Post-doctoral positions are available in the laboratory of Dr. Saumya Das, Director of Resynchronization and Advanced Cardiac Therapeutics Program at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. We seek highly motivated candidates for cutting-edge translational research combining novel technologies in exosomes/extracellular vesicles with patient-derived research to understand the mechanisms of heart failure and arrhythmias. The lab seeks to discover new markers and therapies for patients with cardiovascular and cardiometabolic diseases.
The research program of the DAS lab mainly focuses on investigating the molecular cargo in extracellular vesicles (EVs) and their role in the pathogenesis of cardiovascular diseases. The research is fast-paced and high impact with recent publications in prominent journals such as New England Journal of Medicine, Cell, Circulation, and Circulation Research. The lab receives extensive support from NIH and AHA SFRN grants. Successful completion of these cutting-edge projects using several state-of-the-art technologies in the lab will facilitate the discovery of novel biomarkers for at-risk cardiovascular diseases patients and the development of novel therapies against heart failure.
Position for bioinformatician research fellow:
Applicants with a PhD in a quantitative field (computational biology, genetics/genomics, statistics, computer science and related fields) are encouraged to apply. Experience with next-generation sequencing, metabarcoding, computational and statistical analyses of the RNA, and protein databases would be desirable. Proven R or Python programming skill is required. Strong candidates from a primarily wet-lab or MD background, who are also able to deploy computational and biostatistical skills will also be considered.
Candidates should send a Curriculum Vitae, three references (include names/contact information), and a personal statement of relevant background and future plans to Dr. Saumya Das at SDAS@MGH.HARVARD.EDU or apply here online. If you are applying online make sure you upload one file (pdf, doc, docx).
